National Conference in Sofia Highlights REDESIGN Tools for Effective EPBD Implementation

REDESIGN project partner EnEffect, in cooperation with the Bulgarian Association for Insulations in Construction (BAIS) and the “Renovate Bulgaria” Coalition, on October 1, 2025, held in Sofia, a National Conference entitled “Guidelines and Tools for the Effective Implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).”

The National Conference brought together policymakers, experts, and business representatives for an open discussion on the challenges facing the country.

During the conference, REDESIGN project was highlighted as a valuable source of knowledge and practical tools. Through its General Guiding Framework for Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), developed in cooperation with partners from Bulgaria, Romania, and Croatia, REDESIGN provides a structured approach to help Member States design effective renovation policies.

In addition, important aspects of introducing MEPS in Bulgaria were discussed, including the definition of realistic requirements and timelines, the provision of adequate financial support, and the establishment of effective monitoring mechanisms.
